WE ARE MORE THAN FARMERS
WE ARE PRODUCERS OF HEALTH AND SUSTAINABILITY

Urban Health Farms is an exciting new venture that harmonises the relationship between agriculture and technology. We plan to roll out at least ten major urban indoor vertical farms over the next three years alone and by 2022, Urban Health Farms aims to be the largest indoor farm operator in Europe. Today, the food industry is in need of modernisation and global adoption of indoor vertical farming will revolutionise food production and distribution.

THE WORLD IS FACING
A FOOD CRISIS

THE WORLD IS FACING
A FOOD CRISIS

By 2050, nearly 10 billion hungry people will rely on agriculture and technology to feed them. It is estimated 200,000 children are born every day, many of them into food poverty. Our current food system is already struggling, yet experts estimate we’ll have to find a way to increase food production levels by 70%. A rapidly changing climate threatens not just food supply, but also quality, access, tenuous transportation links and food security. In order to meet future food demands while overcoming the challenges in our current
system, we'll have to find innovative solutions and make immediate changes.

On top of a rapidly growing global population, the food system must
also face other challenges to meet future needs:

CHANGING FOOD PREFERENCES

70% of all vegetables are sold whole and fresh, high demand for fresh, local, long-lasting, nutritious, convenient and affordable produce

SHIFTING DEMOGRAPHICS

80% of people will live in urban areas by 2050, share of fresh produce correlates to income levels

UNRELIABLE CLIMATE

Unpredictable seasons, droughts, floods, increasing pests and diseases

INEFFICIENCIES IN TRADITIONAL AGRICULTURE

Average produce travels 2,400km to markets, losing 45% of its nutrition, increasing food waste, degrading topsoil, depleting aquifers

INDOOR VERTICAL FARMING

IS AN INNOVATIVE

SOLUTION

INDOOR VERTICAL FARMING
IS AN INNOVATIVE
SOLUTION

With a potential food crisis looming, an innovative solution is needed. Fortunately, with the advanced technology we have at our fingertips, Urban Health Farms are pioneers in an industry that minimises or eliminates the current challenges of traditional farming.

Bringing fresh, safe and nutritious produce to the world will require significant investment, rapid adoption and global encouragement of innovative agricultural production methods — exactly like indoor vertical farming.

THE WORLD’S MOST ADVANCED
FARMING TECHNOLOGY

THE WORLD’S MOST ADVANCED FARMING
TECHNOLOGY

Our advantage over traditional farming is clear. No matter what adverse climatic or environmental conditions are happening outside, indoors it is a perfect sunny day, every day. Continual excellent yields can occur 365 days of the year, giving certainty to customers, and a year-round guaranteed supply and consistent quality to retailers. The use of proprietary technologies truly sets us apart from other vertical farming groups around the world.

OUR DISRUPTION

Through ultra-advanced quality control and proprietary technology, Urban Health Farms can confidently say our resulting produce is of an exceptional and unmatched quality. Our produce is fresher, higher in vitamins and retains more nutrients for the consumer, while using less resources and increasing yields.

A SUPERIOR PRODUCT

Our produce can boast “4 No’s and 2 Low’s”:

  • No pesticides
  • No heavy metal contamination
  • No parasitic ovum
  • No E.coli
  • Low nitrate
  • Low bacteria counts

More than a catchy phrase, these are impressive and attractive qualities that consumers are actively looking for. The year-round availability of premium, quality produce that is fresh, safe, healthier and longer-lasting is an exciting prospect for Europeans.

THE NEXT GREEN REVOLUTION

As we continue to battle the immediate effects of COVID-19, keeping people fed and healthy is the number one priority. Over 75% of industries worldwide have been affected by the current crisis, among them the food supply chain. With its complicated logistics that result in empty grocery store shelves and families without the means to keep themselves healthy enough to fight off sickness, investing in the production of nutritious, locally produced healthy food is more essential than ever.

Vertical farms could help provide solutions, not just to the long-term challenges facing the food system that we knew about a year ago, but the critical food challenges that have emerged in the past few months. Industry experts now predict that vertical farming will be one of the most dominant forms of agriculture in the next 10-15 years. In a post-COVID world, inherent features in vertically farmed produced consumers will be looking for include:

ADVANTAGES

When compared to traditionally grown produce in open-field agriculture,
produce from indoor vertical farms:

LOCAL

Indoor farms can be built anywhere, including in modular options like shipping containers and transported to neighborhoods in need.

AUTOMATED

Labour shortages will not impact harvests and can supply fresh food with minimal to no direct physical contact between workers and produce.

RELIABLE

Farms consistently produce high-yield and high-quality harvests with shorter crop cycles, regardless of external conditions.

NUTRIENT RICH

Hydroponics allows for constant optimisation of quality and yield through precise delivery of nutrients and ultimate control of environmental variables

FRESH

Lasts up to twice as long, is fresher, retains more of its nutrients for the consumer and is available fresh and local year-round

AFFORDABLE

Reduced labour costs and investment in renewable energy make produce from vertical farms accessible and affordable year round.

SUSTAINABLE PRODUCTION

Uses 90-95% less water use and 90% less land. A reduced supply distribution chain means minimal transportation and drastically lowers the overall environmental footprint.

NO PESTCIDES OR HERBICIDES

The absence of pesticides, herbicides, fungicides or heavy metals makes our produce pure and healthy.

CONTROLLED ENVIRONMENT

Labour shortages will not impact harvests and can supply fresh food with minimal to no direct physical contact between workers and produce.
